Restoring a 100 Year Old House
For those of you who do not know Restoration is the act of restoring/fixing a historic building as close as possible to its original form. Renovation is when things are replaced with a newer version not original to the house. We recently Restored a 100 year old house in New Port Richey, FL. A lot of love went into keeping the house as close to original as possible. Check out the photo Gallery.
When attempting a historic restoration it is important to figure out all the materials that can be reused like wood flooring, cabinets, tile, sinks, vanities and more. Things like plumbing should be replaces and maintained as recommended. Restorations leave the original character of the house while breathing life back into it. If you own an old house and would like to freshen things up you might being looking for a restoration not a renovation.
